Dr Sazan Meran
Clinical Psychologist

"I believe everyone has the capacity for change — and that truly effective therapy must be sensitive to culture, identity, and lived experience."

I am an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist, having completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Harris Manchester College, University of Oxford in 2024. I currently work as a Senior Clinical Psychologist (Band 8a) at Oxford Early Intervention Service, Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust.

My clinical experience spans psychosis and early intervention, trauma and PTSD, anxiety, grief, learning disabilities, paediatric oncology, and CAMHS — working with children, young people, and adults. All sessions are delivered online, making therapy accessible wherever you are in the UK.

I am committed to culturally sensitive, anti-racist practice, and have specific experience working with Muslim clients, and with Bangladeshi, Arab, and refugee communities.

How I work

My approach

I draw on a range of evidence-based models, always adapting to what works best for you as an individual.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Practical, structured therapy targeting unhelpful thought and behaviour patterns. I am currently completing a PGCert in CBT for severe mental health conditions including psychosis and bipolar disorder.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Building psychological flexibility — learning to relate differently to difficult thoughts and feelings so you can move toward what matters most in your life.

Trauma-focused approaches

Including trauma-focused CBT, EMDR, and the COURRAGE narrative therapy model for survivors of gender-based violence — delivered at a carefully considered pace.

Community & liberation approaches

Informed by liberation psychology, anti-racism training, and extensive community-based group work — recognising that mental health cannot be separated from social context.
